BeyondWeGo started with a simple frustration: you land in a new city, open the map everyone uses, and the top results are whoever paid the most or gamed the most reviews. The genuinely good places — the ones locals actually go to — are buried three pages deep or not on the map at all. So we set out to build the opposite: a small, fast, hand-made map of only the spots worth your time.
For each city we spend real time on the ground — eating, walking, getting lost, going back. We work with people who know the place from the inside: residents, long-time expats, the kind of traveller who's been going to the same city for ten years. Every pin on the map is somewhere a person we trust has stood and said, yes, this one. Nothing is scraped, auto-generated or written by a chatbot.
A place earns a pin when it's genuinely good and genuinely worth the detour — not because it's famous, not because it advertises, and never because it paid us (it can't; there's no sponsorship on any map). If a spot is overpriced, coasting on its reputation, or only good for the photo, it doesn't make the cut. We'd rather have 300 spots you'll love than 3,000 you'll scroll past.
Cities change — places move, close, or lose the thing that made them special. We keep the maps current and push updates to everyone who owns one, free, for as long as the map exists. Spot something that's slipped? Tell us and we'll check it.
Each map is a fast web app — no download, no account, no subscription. You buy a city once, open a link, and it's yours forever, on any device, online or off. One flat price, free updates, and a private traveller community in the box.
That's the whole idea. Pick a city, open the map, and spend your trip in the good places instead of hunting for them.
